Performing arts classes

Each student is closely evaluated by the faculty and director, there is a syllabus for each class that the faculty follows. While each class description gives an age/grade level, these ages/grades are a general guideline and students do not automatically move up to the next level according to age/grade listed or the amount of years that they have studied dance.  We want to ensure that students can execute proper technique of each movement for that level before moving to the next level.  Dancers are placed in a level that is appropriate for them as our goal is to promote confidence, self-grown and development.

BALLET TECHNIQUE (GRADES 3 - 12)

This non-performance class is designed for students who want to further their ballet training and technique. Class curriculum includes barre work, center, and across-the-floor progressions to build strength, alignment, and control. Readiness for pointe work is determined by each student’s strength and physical development, not age, and students may wear pre-pointe or pointe shoes once an appropriate evaluation has taken place. Dancers en pointe are required to take this class, as it ensures they are training in at least two ballet classes per week to safely support their pointe work.
